Better diversify.  The old logic that 401ks robotically provide positive returns over time is unsound.  All investment involves risk, and risk means risk of LOSS.

It's like a Cinderella story, only Cinderella is a hooker. It may be a silly comedy romance, but I still enjoy watching it all these years later. Forced savings is like a New Years Resolution.  It won't work for long.  The best way is to make changes in your spending.  Make a clear distiction between 'wants' and 'needs'.  When your lifestyle leans towards focusing on 'needs', there will be money available for savings.  Pick your 'wants' spending very carefully.
