Did any of these things personally happen to you? Did you buy s house that you could afford, only to have the price drop 60-80% literally overnight because of other people's and institutions' fraud and irresponsibility and immorality?
I am probably a right-winger, at least to some degree. But I wouldn't get pissed if American/US Air wrote $200 checks to the working poor or to the 100,000 lowest-paid workers on their payroll. I would get pissed if the money went to anyone who is not making their own real effort to not be "poor."
For tax purposes, CEO "pay" is capped for public companies. But the companies just find ways around it by calling it something else. I have always said, and this is one instance that proves my point: Morality cannot be legislated because it cannot and/or won't be enforced.
