Did you miss the diversity in the dance class itself?  Although not featured, there were girls of different ethnicities in the class.  Only Hollywood has this obsession with being PC.  In general, we watch a show because it's good, not because of the nationalities of the actors.

I used to feel sorry for her and hoped that her talent would shine through in the end.  After watching her performance on SNL, I have to wonder at how much talent she really has.  You could see her struggling to read cue cards and she lacked any sensible spontaneity.  She's done in my book.
