I would disagree, Day Traders don't care if the market goes up or down as long as there's some good volatility to trade on. End of day the trader is out whether he was long, short or swing trading. Your defining an investor.
For the ones yapping on here about how military members pay for their own uniforms that is not true. They receive an allowance, in cash to spend on uniforms. Here's the USN for 2013.
