He had a great voice, the perfect substitute for Buddy Holly. I played in a rock band '62-'66 and several of his songs were on our play list. Is this the 'day the music died'...?  A huge loss.

Ya.... why is it that the rest of the world has high mileage diesels and we don't? I bought a new 1981 diesel Jetta, 5-speed and routinely got mid 50s. My best mileage was 61mpg. I sold it with 225,000 miles on it.
