Look into Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace" classes.  Read his book "The Total Money Makeover" (you can check it out from the library).  It changed my life, and I will be totally debt free by next September.  Use a written budget, and give every dollar a name (even your spending money).   Anyone can follow his principles...more

I'm so sorry for the loss of your darling pup - - I just lost mine on 3/22, so I can definitely share your sorrow.  Please know that Jane and Murphy are probably having a great time in Heaven!  I agree with Deeters - - my house seems so "hollow".  I sure miss my fuzzy little buddy...  but I know he is (like Jane) no lo...more

Thank you Lizzie and Seminole Lover - - Murphy was definitely my third child; all that was missing was a social security number!  Maybe someday, I'll get lucky and have another Corgi puppy rescue me!  :)

I am following Dave Ramsey and have decided that today, Friday the 13th, is a perfect day to have a plastic surgery party!  I'm going to take the credit cards out of the freezer (frozen last December in a container marked "Bad Habits"), light some candles, pour myself a wine cooler, put on Inna Godda Da Vida, and cut, ...more

What Is a "Good Death"? -

I just lost my mother on June 3, after learning of her cancer on May 21.  She had her affairs in order, she got to say goodbye to each of her 5 children and her older sister.  When it was clear she needed more care than family could provide, we took her to a hospital where we met with an oncologist.  The oncologist (a ...more

Most drivers have pet peeves about other...

I have 2 pet peeves: You're on a 4-lane road at a stop light.  You are behind a car in the left hand lane, preparing to go forward through the intersection.  The car ahead of you does not have his turning signal on.  As soon as the light changes to green, the idiot in front turns on his signal to turn left.  Grrrrrrrr...more
