hifligher and 3102eoj both state the situation clearly. They could have simply settled out of court if the morality of this one situation was at stake. Since it is not, they could set legal precedent and arrive at the same solution by losing. Or, they could simply win and apply the law as it stands. Very, very smart.

I agree with nightwalker: I lived in Idaho in the early to mid 80's. There were wolves only in the Selkirks; the upper 1/8 of the state.
