I'm sorry for your problems. It sucks when you don't get what you were promised. However, does it do any good to attack others who are getting nothing more than what they were promised? How is it better if they get screwed too?
Social security will exist, unless we vote in people who will take it away. It is sound for quite a few years, and even without changes it can still pay partial benefits after that. There are several simple fixes which would extend the health of the system for years beyond.
If you are paying for, and getting health insurance at a job, you absolutely do not have to also pay medicare. Get informed, or it will cost you money.
If you are at the top of SS benefits, you will draw about 30,000 per year, which isn't that bad a return on what went in. As far as your alternative, if you had invested, and the market tanked, which it did just a few years ago, you might or might not have that money left.
