Bye-bye, mudroom and hello, 'drop zone'

I am happy with what I have.  Thank goodnesss I don't try and keep with the trends, but do I what I like and what I can afford with my home.  Otherwise, I would be remodeling every 5 years and who has the time and money to keep up with that?

I'm a home owner and I own rentals.  To each his/her own.  For some, renting is the best option as you pretty much know what you're expenses will be from one month to the next.  Anytime repairs are necessary at a rental, it comes out of my pocket and many times it is unexpected.  Leaking pipes, getting a call on Christ...more

I know a lot of people who work for the PO and they all agree:  Working part-time, but getting paid full-time, is not financially sustainable.  Especially on Saturdays, many PO employees work 5-6 hours, but get paid for 8.  Same thing at many of the PO sorting centers.  I'm not making this up, but I am told that union ...more

My husband is a CPA and there is no doubt that our tax system is complex and often overwhelming. He has to attend a number of tax seminars every year to keep up with the changes so that he is in compliance with the IRS and whatever state laws that would affect his clients. If you have a W2 and that's it, filing a 1040 ...more
