You failed to mention state taxes!! No state income tax in Florida, a small Hall tax( 6%) on interest & Dividends outside of state in Tennessee, no state income tax in Texas etc. Need to take that into account along with sales tax, property taxes, cost of living (food, gas, etc.).

The Feds have kept interest rate atificially low...very low! Thus, the interest payment on our $16.2 TRILLION (and climbing a trillion $ a year)) debt is artificially low.
