I don't get the problem here?  McDonald's sponsors the Olympics and this is bad because.....? I sponsor the Olympics with a monthly donation and, sometimes, eat at McDonald's.  Should I stop my sponsorship also?   Stop having problems where there are none. The more, the merrier!

Well, the garage sale metaphor doesn't really have merit as, most people having a garage sale do so to rid themselves of items unwanted/unneeded in the home and so anything they get is gravy.
