A farewell package of $89K -- per month?

These "perks" should also be termed "looting the store".  Pity the stockholders.  The board of directors of these companies certainly aren't on their side.

Wal-Mart resists pressure on gun sales

The interpretation of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution has been changed over the years.  The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously in 1939 that gun control was legal and that the 2nd Amendment did NOT guarantee private individuals to own firearms.  Only in more recent years has the changed nature of the high court ...more

Sprinkle spree gets former McDonald's wo...

Low wages!  There's really no other way a fast-food operation can afford to offer a 99-cent burger And I can recall a carpenter quitting on a construction job for me in Malibu long ago because the burgers in that area were $5.00.  It's the cheap food that brings in the business.  If McDonalds could find a way to mecha...more

Changed your mind about that tattoo?

I am forever mystified that a person would want to disfigure  his/her body anywhere.  Tattoos belong on primitive tribes not on those living in civilized areas.  Groucho Marx illuminated such stupidity with the song "Lydia, The Tattooed Lady".

Red Lobster and Olive Garden are starvin...

Red Lobster should remove "Fish & Chips" from its menu, since it is painfully obvious that RL's cooks do not know how to properly prepare it.  A complete disaster!  My complaint was tossed off as inconsequential.  My wife likes the place but I steer her elsewhere whenever possible.

Prostitution has been around for centuries.  Why not legalize it since, like marijuana, no laws seem able to control it.  Regulation?  The only way that would be effective would be to confine it to certain restricted areas in any city or town as is done in some foreign countries.
