Yet another article telling people to delay taking social security.  I EARNED it and started taking it at 62 after the great recession put a huge dent in the savings I had.  It made life a lot easier and I don't regret it at all.

The truest statement in the article, "If you really want to know how the economy is doing, don't ask an economist."  The only economy they care about is Wall Street.   Meanwhile, in my neighborhood, there have been job losses, foreclosures, and bankruptcies.  No one can afford health insurance and those who have kid...more

Why you shouldn't retire at age 66

If I read one more article about delaying retirement I'm gonna puke.  The social and mental benefits mentioned in the article weren't there my entire working life, and I got my first job at age 14.  Why will they suddenly be there at 66!?! Higher taxes: Would you quit smoking?

No. We have a bad habit of taxing things of which we disapprove.  Tobacco is an addiction and raising the price has little or no effect on addicts.  It's just another way for the feds to grab more money.  If pre-schools need more money we should all be chipping in, not only the smokers.  Of course cutting a bit more...more

Doctors don't need your Soc. Sec. number

Years ago I got tired of fighting with offices and companies who had absolutely no reason to have my SSN.  Solution:  Make up a number.  They never check it, and if someone in the office decides to start stealing information for identity theft or whatever, you are safe.

The cost of the drugs is outrageous!  If someone has information that justifies the expense of almost every drug in this country, I'd like to hear it.  And I'd like to know why these same drugs are less expensive everywhere else on the planet.
