Rent to own locations are a rip off as well! You wind up paying 2 to 3 times what the item is worth (at the start & even more over time as these items depreciate over time)

Gorcery cards work as well. Kroger offers a loyalty card that accumulates points to use for discounts at the gas pump. For every dollar you spend, you get a point. When you accumulate 100 points, you get 10 cents off a tank of gas. You need groceries, you need gas. A win-win situation.
Another thing is to do mail order. I get my prescriptions a lot less cheaper for a 90 day supply thru mail-order as compared to a 30 day supply thru my pharmacy. Of course, the insurance company jacked up the cost of going thru the local pharmacy so we were forced to do mail-order.
