Doing the right thing is never easy. Cut taxes some and spending much more. Draconian cuts to 'discretionary spending' and dramatic cuts to entitlements are the only moral options. Imagine that a Govt/Union enterprise that is losing money! Neither of those entities can do anything well, let alone run a business. GM failed as a going concern- infusing public funds is subsidizing failure.....kinda like our entire welfare system.

I'm glad Toyota screwed up and is getting bad press- it's been tiresome hearing the media fawn over them for years. I hope this does permanent damage to the Toyota brand. Now if Ford (GM is too far gone) can find a way to extricate themselves from dead-weight Union entanglements they'll have a real future.
