Plenty of dead people buried in ditches in the USSR said "hey our government will never come to kill us." Same in Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland, France, Spain, most all of Latin America, and even in the US. Ask the Native Americans or the Branch Davidians if the US Government will show up and kill citizens.
