If I were injured in a foreign country, I would want to be repatriated to the US for treatment. If I was comatose, I am sure my family would want me returned ASAP. Just curious, but isn't it illegal for a company to hire undocumented workers?
How does adding an estimated 11 million to our workforce increase wages? Supply and demand (and common sense) dictates that more competition for jobs leads to lower wages. Gasoline tax is not a flat tax it is what's called a user fee. If you buy gas you use the roads, therefore you pay for the upkeep. However you are correct that it is a fairer way to provide services and tax simplification.
I once worked for a company Bain bought in 2005, Unisource. Within 4 years the workforce in my plant (Southborough, Ma) had shrunk from 130 to 25. This was the branch they kept open.
