CEOs playing the blame game

I want our corps. to do swimmingly well, both here and abroad.  I want them to innovate instead of just sitting back and holding onto cash.  Where is the leadership in that?  We have real problems in this country, but where are the solutions?  All those entities who were bailed out...   Where is their contribution now,...more

CEOs playing the blame game

Either US corporations are citizens (Citizens United), or they aren't.  Which is it?  If they prefer a Cayman Islands PO Box, then it should be where they relocate all their HQ people.  These people benefit everyday when they use publicly provided infrastructure, benefit from publicly educated employees, advertise to p...more

'Taxpayer receipt' tells you where your...

The last paragraph is the most important.  Just how much will all these receipts cost the government (and therefore, the US tax payer)?  How much will such a receipt help any of us.  There isn't enough detail, and therefore can't really tell us much.  those who don't like paying for wars will complain, as will those wh...more

Why savers and spenders marry - MSN Mone...

fin123's comments were most useful.  And, he's come up with a good plan while planning and saving for the present and future.  We can't judge others' purchases such as the dishwasher.  I couldn't be married to that kind of guy.  We were similar wage earners until I took time out to raise the children.  I had my degrees...more

The year of the Roth

I totally agree with these comments.  The idea would be to shelter any gain on these funds, over time, and not have additional taxes due.  That seems to be the real advantage.

AIG CEO threatens to walk

Can there be a silver lining to all these overpaid, obviously inept leaders now that they can't hide the failures of their companies and therefore their leadership?  A house cleaning would serve the company well, but the board must seek those with talent and ideas rather than someone in their clique.  They need people ...more
