I'm a Singleton and I've been able to make groceries stretch considerably. My best month I spent 25$ on new food. I did however have a nifty stockpile of rice, flour and spices ready.
Veggies can be pricey, but the canned and frozen versions can last a while. Especially if they're integrated into larger meal...more
