Hatteras and north to Salvo in NC in the Outer Banks belongs in the top 10 just for the ability to drive on the beach and the water is nice and warm and the fishing is great. Nothing like packing up the SUV or Pickup with a grill, chairs, umbrella, cooler, beer and food for a whole day.

If you haven't been to that NJ beach how would you know? I have been to Cape May and it's awesome.

I went to Kiawah Island in SC and I had the best day at the beach in my life. warm water, smooth waves, no blowing sand, no flies and bathrooms, showers and food and soft drinks. I brought my own beer. I didn't want to leave. Hatteras is awesome also if you have a 4wd and can drive on the beach. Incredible.
