Sorry, but, I would never have agreed to extending the county's standing morality clause (which has an expiration) to my divorce decree (which has no expiration).  And, I don't see how this woman would have been in danger of losing her kids without extending the clause... in every single state, custody laws tend to fav...more

VolckerFan, that is true that this clause is always included in that county (although, to be fair, it is only in force while the divorce is pending).  However, the Comptons added this clause to their final divorce decree, by choice! (unlike the county's clause, it has no expiration).  And, in my opinion, it was a poor ...more

Ha!  Too funny JN, we always called it 'cave dwelling'.    And I am just not cut out for it either.  If that makes me bad, I am happy to remain bad.

SpringIris... I *so* agree with you!  The ex-husband is a real jerk to bring this to the courts.  If I were the ex-wife, I would make certain he is adhering to the clause as well.   People do need to stop agreeing to stuff like this in the first place, though.  I know I wouldn't.

Because Ms. Compton agreed to and signed the morality clause when she and her husband divorced, she is right to comply with the order enforcing the clause.  That said, I would make sure the husband was abiding by the order as well, and I would take him to court just as fast as he took me to court if I found out he wasn...more

The only thing 'awful' is that more parents don't do stuff like this and, whenever one does, all of the so-called 'experts' have a freak out.   Even as a teen, I would have thought that sign was funny... but it also would have made me watch my words and actions (at least for a while) so I wouldn't be THAT type of tee...more

And, yet, right now, there are a lot of people in Oklahoma using social media to help locate loved ones and lost pets and others are using it to organize relief efforts, send help and supplies and arrange foster homes for pets of those who've been displaced.
