You're stooping to a new low here, Aimee.  A gov program is "profitable"?  Give me a break.  As a member of the 53% that actually pay income taxes, when can I expect my "profit sharing" check?

Since January 1, 2000, stocks are up about 15%, while gold is up more than 400%.

Lies and deceit are accepted by the masses - I agree.  The question becomes, are the masses so ignorant that they don't know they are being lied to, or is that they are aware of the deceit and just don't care because there's nothing they can do about it anyway.  Maybe a little bit of both?

And the value of your stock holdings are never realized until you sell. The recent run-up has created a bunch of new millionaires on paper.  Unfortunately, greed will prevent most of them from realizing and keeping and enjoying their new found wealth.

You can argue all day long about whether precious metals are a good investment.  But their store of value over time is indisputable, especially when compared to the US dollar.  Which would you rather have, a $20 bill from 1930 or a $20 gold piece from 1930?

Nice article, Anthony.  We've been riding the Euro waves down against the dollar since it touched 1.315 a couple of weeks ago (yes, I predicted that on these very boards) - a great spot for quick shorts, in and out.  Every reason to think it could dip below 1.276, but if not, no worries, it's all been the house's money...more
