Dow stages September comeback

Keep preaching, 2 sick.  I just wish people were listening.  I saw at least 8 CEOs/economists/analysts on CNBC this morning and all of them projected 1.5% GDP for Q3 and 2.5% for Q4.  Perhaps Steve Leesman was doing something under the round table that put them all in a good mood.

Dow stages September comeback

Lowered lending standards led to bad loans guaranteed by the government via Fannie and Freddie.  So once again, the gov artificially manufactured demand and the result was the housing bubble that eventually popped. Unbeknown to most citizens, the US treasury has quietly been buying up gold.  Again, they are creating a...more

Dow stages September comeback

I would be interested in a "corporate" voting policy based on the amount of taxes you pay.  The whole point of elections is to select the people who will be spending taxpayer money.  So maybe everyone should get a single vote and then for every $5000 you pay in income taxes, you should get another vote.  It seems ridic...more

Stocks fluctuate on Fed caution

A. Merican, I agree about the flat tax.  But politicians have been using tax policy to control behavior for far too long to just quit cold turkey now.  Homebuyer tax credit, mortgage interest deduction, tobacco taxes, alcohol taxes, gas taxes,  property taxes, etc...

Stocks fluctuate on Fed caution

Here some food for thought - it is becoming more and more common for retirees to move to other countries where it is much cheaper to live.  They still maintain their US citizenship and still collect their social security checks, they just spend the money in another country. This isn't helping our economy or tax base a...more

Oh no, are we talking about "saved jobs" again?  Where's Biden?  Christina Romer?  Anyone?  ANYONE?
