I would be interested in a "corporate" voting policy based on the amount of taxes you pay. The whole point of elections is to select the people who will be spending taxpayer money. I agree about the flat tax. But politicians have been using tax policy to control behavior for far too long to just quit cold turkey now. Homebuyer tax credit, mortgage interest deduction, tobacco taxes, alcohol taxes, gas taxes, property taxes, etc...
Here some food for thought - it is becoming more and more common for retirees to move to other countries where it is much cheaper to live. They still maintain their US citizenship and still collect their social security checks, they just spend the money in another country.
