What are you doing to save on gas?

I have more of a complaint, but it's something I have not seen many mention thus far.  There is an EPA city/highway rating for a reason, and the reason is that city driving is so inefficient, which is largely due to traffic lights.  How many people have seen a long line of cars have to stop at a traffic light, so that ...more

800,000 households cut cable

WOW, not sure, but it seems most people, and the author of this article, don't seem to realize: cable companies own your internet access!  They own the servers, the cable, the hardware you use to "beat" the cable company... Best bet--go back to school and learn a trade that the Chinese will value, so you can have a job...more

800,000 households cut cable

Here is something no one seems to be thinking of (at least from the comments I read):  if you ditch cable, but think you are getting some kind of good deal using the internet, guess what?  Yours (and mine) internet fees are going to skyrocket.  You will be paying by the minute or by the bandwidth or something.  Believe...more

Gas prices going up?

Nomorerose: all true.   Flat tax and it's multiple mildly different offerings would only be objected to by the very rich, who just happen to control the puppet strings of many in Congress.  S. Forbes, while a poor presidential candidate, has a great mind when it comes to economics, and he has championed flat tax for ...more

Gas prices going up?

Wow, there are some really dumb people out there.  Of course Bush profitted from big oil, he is a texas oil man going back for generations.  All you rightwingers who cant wait for Obama to fail, ought to shut your mouths and quit complaining, as anything negative must feed into your spiteful predictions of the future. ...more

10 things home insurers won't say - MSN...

for ckb.ckb's comment: No one needs you, or your deceitful company.  Your (substituting your for any ins company) company probably has nice commercials and ads that state "were're here for you" etc.  Yeah right, this article goes to show how you are only out for yourselves.  You don't really offer the services you cla...more

Obama speech 'painful' for Wall Street

You know what is "painful"?  Watching my 401k disappear in a cloud of smoke.  I am not a wall st insider, not a trader, and my "pain" comes from these people who cannot manage the inside of a hat conducting business based on the shortest of short term interests.  "Little people" like me have no sympathy for anyone on w...more

Chicago Auto Show Top Ten

Ha, American-made still means big, heavy, and expensive, with no economy to show.  I have an MS3, easily the best car for the money right now.  268 hp, 280 lb-ft, avg 25 mpg in mixed driving, direct injection, 0-60 in 5.9 (or less), better interior than my uncle's 5 series, weighs 3000 lbs.  Who cares about the corvett...more

The next crisis has already begun - MSN...

I dont know jack about causes or corrections for inflation, but it seems to me that inflation is a measure of an economies' (and therein a society's) personal financial stupidity.  If something is worth $xx dollars today, why would someone pay $xxxx dollars a year from now?
