The writer talks about hamburger - but ground beef is not "processed", so should not be maligned.  Processed meat is cured meat, like bacon and sausage.

Greg Berry did not answer my point:  We import a lot of curde oil and export only a small fraction of this back as refined product.  Net, we are still a large importer of oil, and price increases of this (or scarcity thereof) will adversely affect us.

I am confused - we import 9 million net barrels of crude oil, and we export 1 million net barrels of refined petroleum products.  Seems to me like that is still a net importation of 8 million barrels.

Already gone, just remember that for every buyer there is a seller.  If you invest $50,000, you actually paid someone $50,000 for the stock or whatever you bought.  Where did it go? - The seller still has it.
