Fact of the mater is women love stuff like this. They are the biggest consumers of Tabloids and reality shows. Even if they were not any Tabloids women would not really care that much because they have a network of gossips behind the scenes.

JC Penney needs to stick with what got them famous. Target the Middle and Lower classes with quality good. Let Macys handle the over priced name-brand items.
