And with those record profits, plus the $ 4 billion+ tax breaks they got from the gov't, how many refineries did they actually build? More importantly, how many have been closed down? Since 1982, they have closed 117 refineries, so don't give me that crap that they are building new ones.

1. corporations already pay little to no taxes as it is. I think that we could lower the % from 35%, but we should also close the majority of deductions/loopholes they are allowed to take. For example, when a company like GE and Ford gets billions of dollars back from the government, there's something wrong with the ...more

Have shipments of oil been highjacked or destroyed because of these "tensions"? Have "tense" countries come out and said they refuse to produce as much oil as...more
I assume your not accounting for the $4 billion+ in subsidies/tax breaks the government provides to the oil companies each year.
The oil companies aren't hurting nearly as bad as you think. The government is not pressing their thumb on an ant, in fact they are giving steriods to a giant.
Are you sure that gas is "highly" taxed? The federal gas tax is 18.4 cents, and, depending on the state you live in can range anywhere from 8 cents (Alaska) to 47.7 cents (California). US Average is 29.7 cents per state and 48.1 cents (average of state+federal).
So national average gas price i...more
