I don't consider Cherokee's off road vehicles. The Wrangler's do nor share the same reliability issues of the Cherokee as, from conception, they are built for entirely different reasons. This article problem is that it is not comparing apples to apples but more like apples to avocado's.

Any amenities added to the Rubicon are secondary to it's functionality. They are not really designed to be a luxury car and those that own them don't normally look at them as such. Plus, they are way less expensive than "beemers" and G class Mercedes. You can pick up anew soft top two door for around 30K.

FJ's are ugly that's why. People I have talked to that own them have al said the same thing, not very roomy and reliability is not very "Toyota-ish". Their words, not mine.
