Yes, been to Texas and it is nice. Every state has its issues and if I recall although there is no state income tax the property taxes were extremely high. So, the initial home cost is low but you are paying a fairly hefty property tax rate yearly. .
Dividends should be taxed as ordinary income. Who can sit on their money and invest it in stocks that pay a decent dividend, the wealthy.
