At least they were not in DC,  not a lot of intelligent life there,  at least as far as the political landscape is involved.

If Spain is having financial problems,  why are they spending 680 million on a sub...not to mention it looks like it will be a cost overun since they might have to modify it,  to remove the excess weight.

Phil..do you mean going back a hundred years or more when we had no income taxes...etc..and what about the defense budget ?  would that mean, we would be cutting it to the bone,  bringing our troops home...also...because doubt if we could afford to keep the defense spending at current levels.
