I used to clean rooms in hotels and that was a thankless job. But I did the best I could and took total pride in my work, even though I was not some upper echelon manager. I got paid little, but occasionally a guest would leave a tip and it made my day! Nowadays, when I go to hotels I tip the housekeeper.
