Obese? You may pay more for insurance

Yes, you have to eat to live.  But, you don't have to eat a truckload of Doritos. Eat whole, unprocessed foods, turn off the TV and go for a hike. It's not rocket science.

Will 'mantyhose' take off in the US?

"He-tards"... a clever name that doubles as a garment title and derogatory description of the men who wear them!

Domino's founder scores victory against...

The government isn't requiring anyone to partake in contraception.  It is protecting the right of the individual to have the FREEDOM to choose.  Using your analogy, allowing employers to restrict availability of contraception would be like allowing the Amish to regulate the availability of electricity to the non-Amish ...more

Most people who consume alcohol do it in moderation.  Likewise, most gun owners don't shoot people.  But they do provide an easy target for smug individuals trying to stand on a soapbox.    I would argue that poor diets and sedentary lifestles are responsible for FAR more destruction than alcohol.

While the article is interesting... I don't agree with most of his analysis.  Most importantly, the author should only deduct the marginal increases in cost from his $40k salary.  I think he would choose to keep his vehicle for personal use either way, so I would throw out the $200/mo expense, becuase this would be inc...more

2 prominent economists say Bush tax cuts...

On the surface, there is a lot of support for tax reform and increased simplification of the revenue code.  However, all of the popular alternatives (flat-tax, consumption tax, "fair-tax", etc.) are popular because most taxpayers assume the result will be a lower personal income tax burden.  Unfortunately, when the sta...more
