Wal-Mart shows signs of self-destructing

Its good to see that maybe there is still some justice in the world.. In the early 90's the list of top 20 billionaires included about 8 people that were heirs to the Walmart fortune. But enough is never enough, and they and their management have busted down the pay, benefits, and morale of their workforce so bad, that...more

It's too bad that all the "right to work" proponents across the country can't see more examples like this, and realize that whether its a small employer or the multi-national corporation, when the balance of power shifts too far in the direction of the employer, the employer doesn't always operate in a fair and moral f...more

Sears accused of misleading public on Cr...

Buck Crosby sounds like a very disgruntled worker who secretly wishes he had a union to protect him from terrible pay, no benefits, and no future. If he were a company owner, he would be the very type of owner that the unions were formed to protect the workers from. Your comments show the mentality that convinces me we...more

Sears accused of misleading public on Cr...

I don't understand how someone can say unions are no longer necessary. Just open your eyes and look at the greed in corporate America. They ship jobs overseas to employ people at slave wages with no health benefits, retirement, or safety regulations. If not for unions that would be the conditions here. It was not that ...more

The sad truth is that most CEOs and boards stopped caring about the long term in planning their business strategy and focus in the next months bottom line. They sell out to the lowest common denominator: greed. The most telling example of this was an article and editorial in the St. Louis Post Dispatch about a local CE...more

Thanks to the advice and examples of depression era parents, I was taught to always live a little below my means. If that is your primary rule of thumb, you will remain in charge of your finances instead of the other way around.  Because of a totally insufficient minimum wage that has not kept up with inflation, it is ...more

Thanks for pointing out what most of society is too brainwashed to see. Big business visionaries such as Henry Ford and August Busch II saw that if you shared the wealth with your workers and paid them better than any current employers of the time, you accomplish 2 things. You make a ton of money by developing a LOYAL,...more

I can't believe all of the comments blaming the entire problem on the unions. I would bet that most of you "softies" out there wouldn't last a day in a fast paced factory job. Also I would bet that none of those factory workers make 50 or 60 k to work in the heat ,  and noise of a typical factory. Not one person has pu...more

It makes me sick to hear all this political garbage, especially Mr. Romney telling how he STRUGGLED to start his own business. I'm shocked there weren't any opportunities to start your own venture capital business for a $50,000 investment.  To many people that $50,000 equates to a lifetime of saving because their fathe...more
