What do you mean SS is paid on the backs of the poor?  If anything it benefits the poor.  The taxpayer who makes $50K per year for 30 years will contribute approx $93K; while the taxpayer making $100K will contribute double or $186K, however the benefit is almost the SAME. Eric - learn some math dude.  It's 2% of Gross pay, not her take home pay.  The $150 "take home" is after taxes and her mortgage.  Sheesh, talk about misinformation.
