Social security...ah, me!  Our government is not a for profit company.  It does not grow money, it eats it.  And we tax payers have to continually feed it.  Every one of you who has ever bought savings bonds and received interest on that bond has COST your fellow tax payers money.  That's where the interest you were pa...more

@ someone...a highly efficient semi will only get 6 maybe 8 miles per gallon.  $600 will get you about 150 gallons.  That's 900 miles...if you are lucky.  Driving the legal 14 hours per day and averaging 64.5 mph, $600 per day is highly likely.  (How many professional truckers DON'T average 65 mph?)  If the truck is le...more

Florida lifeguard fired for rescuing dro...

I don't know enough from what is written here to have an opinion.  I would think, though, that if he went out of his area, then someone should have been covering the area to which he went.  Did he "hot dog" it and ace out another lifeguard whose job it was to protect that area?  If so, then yes he deserves to be fired ...more

I am so tired of folks cutting down bankers...and politicians...and lawyers...and stock brokers.  Geez, folks, if we didn't have any of them we'd have to invent them.  Someone has to do it!   if there were no used car salesmen someone would have to sell used cars.  Then we'd have a used car salesman.  DUH!  I watched t...more

So many people complain about the supposed pointlessness of this article.  But as one who spends a lot of time in the field, this lets me know that in the future, when with a mixed group, I have a perfectly valid reason to say, "Ladies, you take the lead!".
