"I understand your point but there are many reasons why businesses discriminate against older people."
It's not just Business, it is Media, and American society et al. Stereotypes such as mentioned above perpetuate the myth, and set the stage for those to which it does not apply. Consider the mindset that prompts t...more
It's not just money problems; age discrimination, societal distaste, and being judged by grey and wrinkles rather than genuine attributes has caused many, if not most otherwise vibrant and capable boomers to loose self esteem, and for some, the will to live.
Looks, (apparent/perceived age), trumps ability, skill, m...more
The average 2%~3% Credit Card fees are ultimately paid by ALL customers, if they use cards or not. It is more like a hidden TAX to let someone else take your money, and give it to someone else. Granted, there are times and places for CC use, but for the most part, it is tough to understand what so many are so anxious t...more
The human body is it's own best physician; let it do it's job. If it can't, THEN go to the Dr. Botched healthcare kills as many people as 6 jumbo jet crashes a week would, and costs more too =(
Seeing the uninsured and indigent as the cause of spiraling healthcare costs is way off base; a miniscule number of impoverished ever make it past the ER. But the well insured are walking among us on new knees and hips, powered by their triple bypassed hearts, with peace of mind gained through both expensive medication...more

Even physicians and staff have no idea what passes through the billing office because they are as isolated as the patients; try asking how much a box of tissues, rubber glove or band aid costs next time. The reimbursement schedules a...more
Just beating a dead horse pointing out the obvious again: Insurance companies are the root cause of outrageous and well concealed healthcare costs. Ask anyone with insurance what the TOTAL bill was for their last procedure or MD visit (not just the co-pay). Who but an insurance company would pay $50 for an aspirin?
Technology will more-so in the future, and is right now, biting us bad. But no-one wants to hear it because our gadgets are too cool. Case in point: Odd how so little news (even on the Market page) mentions the mini Robo-Crash yesterday. Hackers in another country can throw a monkey-wrench in the works in the eTrade wo...more
A very convincing article; looks like Bitcoin is the wave of the future if it is even remotely as enduring and valuable as gold!
One other question that has always been nagging, is that if an "apocalypse" does occur, just how will these bread companies, car manufacturers, refineries and firearms suppliers survive wit...more
