Why would pregnancy (a healthy one) or new parenthood be considered a disability?

I do not understand why pregnancy (at least a healthy one) and new parenthood are considered disabilities.

I think that paid maternity leave is a nice perk from companies that can afford it. But, for a small/middle class business I wonder how the employer finds the money to compensate a "non-productive" employee....and/or how the employer is supposed to find the additional money to pay for a fill in or to pay other employee...more

And she shouldn't have accepted the makeover and the limo if she was not happy with the process....especially if she intended to sue...it seems hypocritical.

I once had to travel with my son who was in a wheelchair due to a broken leg. TSA was kind enough to let him bypass the walk through scanner, so that he did not have to get out of the wheelchair.
