Hate to be bitter here, but all these low housing prices and rates come at the expense of millions who were victims of the mortgage crisis and housing breakdown...and say all the nasty comments that you will, but there are still plenty of us who were innocent of not having bought more then we could afford, or fell for ...more
I knew this was what DirecTV was up to when they refused to offer us not one incentive, advertised or otherwise, when we moved recently- they were even going to charge us for installation at the new house!!!! All this because we had had a few late payments in recent years (I tried to explain that this was because I wor...more
This is just stupid- people with credit issues are struggling, and can barely pull together $50, never mind $5,000!! And, unless I'm missing something, I don't believe lowering your principal mortgage by that amount is going to help much to lower the payment- maybe $50,000 would really help someone out, but not $5,000!...more

Our p...more
These examples of where we can potentially overspend are obvious, but almost meaningless in today's economy and housing market. The disaster of the housing market espcially has affected both those who were careful, and those who were not- and in ways beyond underwater mortgages and stretched to the limit house payments...more
Ok, I am a 50 yr. old 250 lb. woman who is strong, can walk many miles, works a 12 hour shift, 7days a week (21 years so far) in a physically demanding job (maritime cook/chef), earns close to 6 figures, missed only 2 shifts in all those years (flu), and will continue to work for many years. I do not have diabetes or...more
Mz. Weston must be another secret servicer for FICO....the entire credit card culture being shoved down our throats is just another money-making machine for numerous companies who can use the fees, or resulting credit card scores to justify lining their pockets with our hard-earned cash. Yes, credit cards can have the...more
