Maybe the amount rose that people will be collecting, but my father in law's check went down over $109.00 a month.  He now has to pay way more for medicare, since his investment income took him over the limit.  What a rip off that is.

It is nice they have money to do this.  The schools in our town, here in California are cutting their class  year.  The teachers had to take fouloughs, so it cut our school year by 5 days.
