If you expect to live until you are older than 80, considering delaying taking payments.   However you should know (and what the gov't doesn't want you to know) is that if you (baby boomer) start taking ss benefits beginning at 62 as opposed 66, at no interest you will have to be at least 80 years before the amounts ta...more

Why 68 has become the new 65

The problem is that the govt wants you to work longer to keep the ss funds in their coffers.  Taking distributions beginning at 62 versus waiting until even 66 the break even is at age 79.  How many actually live to age 79?
