The state decided there were too many gators at that location. It is a wildlife Management Area. That gator wasn't near the oldest one in Texas, much less on the planet. TRY reading the article again. The gator was caught in a WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA. They were culling the gators to a number the local ecology would support. Nobody is going to arm them, silly, they are merely going to allow those who are licensed to carry, to do so. Big difference.
