What are they to do? would love advice! It does no good to not take social security early if you earn no money! You social security only increase...more

A formal budget: Who needs it? - Liz Pul...

Budget is a great way to find how much you spend on each area, but as one person said, when you are on unemployment, and your housing is more than 90%of your income, a budget is senseless. And selling our home in this upside down era isn't a good move either. those of you who live on 60% of what you earn and save the...more

Nothing will get better until people just buy houses because they want to live in them and plan to keep them a long time. Our mess not only has come about by greedy people wanting houses they couldnt' afford and greedy banks loaning money without 20% down and then selling these lousy loans to someone else. A formal budget: Who needs it? - Liz Pul...

You are amazing, and should be writing an article - or book- about survival in these times. Being "retired" by loosing my job at age 64, unemployment doesn't cover the house payment. But until then, I can enjoy looking at Paris fashion for its beauty, and not look at the faces (which are sooooo ugly and "angry") and pretend it is real. Disneyland brings the same fantas...more

First Supermodel Walks Runway

It is amazing that people call FAT ones who are what used to be skinny. If you aren't dying with your bones showing, you're considered fat. Look at history and normal people...when you are 15 you are tiny and skinny, at 15 you get some curves, at 40 after kids, you widen a bit in the waist and hips. That is not...more

Frugal or tight: Where's the line? - MSN...

Atico, I have a feeling you aren't a waitress or ever have been one. In the USA a 15% tip is MANDATORY as you are TAXED by the federal gov. on it as income even if you don't get the tip! It would be great if restaurants paid living wages, but many pay NO WAGES AT ALL. The waiters only income is TIPS. That is one reas...more

Frugal or tight: Where's the line? - MSN...

Growing up "frugal" and green was fun. My dad had a compost, grew all our food, had animals, used washing machine water to water the yard, and recycled everything, even the empty soup cans became drain pipes. We never bought paper towels or plastic bags and mom washed the aluminum foil to reuse when she needed it. The...more
