The 800k is a nest egg, it does not need to be cracked if they continue to collect rental payments and do a little work on the side. Never in the article did they say that they were planning to live solely off the 800k.

Why does she have the need to sell the home for over half a million dollars?? With soo many homeowners underwater on their mortgages why would this story even matter? If she sells it and nets say 300k then she should be in a much better position than any other american homeowner out here! geeez
