Lacking in me, means I need to select my friends more carefully, and back off from the friendships that are not genuine - yeah, that much is my fault, for sure.
Ah, yes, the ulterior motive - the little gift when they are going to ask you a huge favor next week, like pick them up at the eye doctor or the hospital outpatient place, or feed the cat. . Always a trade-off - tit for tat - keeping "score" - if they are going to give gifts with an ulterior motive, at least get...more
Yeah, and sadly, way too may "grown-ups" do this also. Once I went out to dinner with the daughter and son-in-law of my neighbor - after dinner we went back to the neighbor's house - they all got out their laptops - who knows what they were doing - I just got up and left - they never even missed me.

I guess t...more
Just depends on how bad they really want to stay in the NY area. If there is nothing tying them to NY - then they are free to try their luck elsewhere. Bottom line - no one is forcing any of these people to stay anywhere - unless they have visa or immigration issues, and that situation will be the same anywhere the...more
These (notice I am not useing the word apartments - !) are unbelievably awful - like a 3rd world country. The people who live here need to wise up and get out of the greater NY area - and go somewhere that they can find decent jobs and decent housing. NY is over-rated - except for the very rich and the tourists. Oth...more
