If your account is at a zero balance and you close it, it won't hurt your credit score as badly as leaving them open and not using them. as to your question. On your credit report if it shows that you have a lot of credit but aren't using it, it can hurt your credit score. You need to cancel the cards your not using and use only one card. Companies will see that you have a lot of approaved credit, and that your not using it so they will start declining ...more
