I empathize with you.  I have a lot of resentment too.  It's so hard to live with.   My dad died two years ago and I still have resentments.  My mom still lives but we'll probably never iron out our issues either.  Good luck - I hope you have some friends to talk to.

My dad was an alcoholic.  When I was a child, I knew the moment he walked through the door if he'd been drinking after work.  It was just like this video.  His personality changed and it was obvious to everyone around him (except him).  Dinner would be horrible, and then he'd drink the rest of the evening.  People thin...more

Maybe the mother is trying to protect the child from an abusive relative or deadbeat dad.  If my son's dad were dangerous, I would not want my son appearing in photos that may be published.  So by saying the parent "failed to submit" the permission slip is slanting it as though the parent or child was irresponsible.  P...more
