Do we really need the mortgage tax deduc...

my wife and I have no kids but we pay property tax, which is largly used to fund school expenses. We have been subsidising other peoples kids for over 30 years.  No hard feelings though, it's for a good cause.

Tax break  or tax deduction is annother word for subsidy. if you want to subsidise home ownership then go ahead. I always thought that subsidies were promoted  and supported by those pesky socialist types that the righties are always throwing things at..

Some of the people who are overly concerned with their Rights still don't get it . It takes a certain amount of fuel  per pound per mile to transport whatever gets carried. For years the airlines have averaged the passenger weight per seat but the average weight has risen remarkably over the past 20 years or so .  Carg...more

To further clarify the effect of weight on a commercial plane, lets suppose a popular jet that has a max gross take off weight of 118,000 lbs and holds around 110/118 passemgers. the plane ideally will load all the seats with passengers, that leaves the remaining weight availabe to be either Fuel or baggage and freight...more

A note to Steve, #1 are you a pilot? If not , what do you base your statements on. For those of us that are pilots we wouldn't want you planning or operating our flight.  Weight does matter!  maybe the surcharge would work in keeping rates fairer.
