If they were using the Imperial gallon, then US would be about 45mpg. The Metro could get that gas mileage and also cost way less, but with 80s technology. Toyota Aygo diesel about 72mpg and the petrol version gets about 50mpg and that is US standards. Oh, its made in Europe for the last coupel of years. I drivew them when I visit. I hate the US. That is why I cycle, bus, motorcycle around. I only spent $17 for gas last month. Trying to figure out how NOT to own a car.
