As a cyclist I have never understood how a cyclists could be so stupid as to taunt the driver of a 3,000 pound vehicle. When it comes to a cyclist versus a vehicle, being right doesn't make being dead any better.
So cyclists should be double-taxed? That's what you're suggesting. A vast majority of cyclists own a car and pay registration, pay fuel taxes when they get gas, pay tax when they buy it. In addition, either through rent payments or by owning a home they are paying property taxes as well as state taxes and federal incom...more
I'd like to add that not only do most people who bike own cars, register them and put fuel in them, they usually rent or own property (and therefore pay property tax directly or indirectly), they pay any applicable state taxes (which in turn funds from those taxes usually filter down to the county and cities for roads)...more
