What bothers me is the effort that some are going to to try to contact aliens.  We have no idea if they will be friendly or otherwise and once contact is made it will be too late to back out.

The fact that the dollar is used for 40-60% of the international trade is what is keeping the US economy from collapsing.  If foreign interests refused to take the dollar they would be cutting their own throat and they know it.
